Have you ever seen one of those surveys with a little box to check off for Spiritual But Not Religious?

Or maybe you have checked it yourself?

(Yes, I confess. I’ve been on a mindful dating site and checked that box!)

What does that SBNR mean?

Did you know that this is a rapidly growing population?

According to Wikipedia...because we all Google phrases these days..."Spiritual but not religious" (SBNR) is a popular phrase and initialism used to self-identify a life stance of spirituality that takes issue with organized religion as the sole or most valuable means of furthering spiritual growth. Spirituality places an emphasis upon the well-being of the “mind-body-spirit” connection.

In today’s society, pretty much everywhere, there is a growing awareness of this connection.

The yoga industry is booming.

Meditation centers are coming alive.

Hospitals are accepting Reiki Energy.

People write about nutrition education and wellness lifestyles everyday.

So this makes sense to me that it is the one of the fastest growing groups of people.

More and more people are asking for help in the spiritual and integrative therapies.

When you work with the Spirit, you work with what’s inside of you first, not out there or up above.

You work with loving that part within you and not giving away your own power.

You work on having compassion for all living things, including Mother Earth.

You work to strengthen your inner voice so that you know what is your truth.

And then, once you know that part within, you open it up to connect with the Divine Spirit, God, Universe, and all that is.

But you start with the spirit within you first.

You let go of the walls of religion that have bound you in the past.

You let go of limiting beliefs based on false pretensions.

You work on finding that connection within and spreading that out.

You nurture that part within with good thoughts, healthy foods, and clean water.

You consciously choose your decisions in life.

That is the core of Spiritual But Not Religious.

Does this describe you?

Are you one that could serve this population with skills and tools for the body, mind, spirit connection?

Spiritual Leadership is needed at this time.

Some of this population can be found hanging out at yoga studio, some are at meditation centers, but most are doing it alone.

As I see it, it’s time to step forward and build this important movement for mankind.

Is your soul guiding you to serve more?
