Here we are at the beginning of the year and many people are struggling with this season of winter.
Beyond the days being shorter and colder, another main thing to look at is your ability to be still and rest.
I know our society doesn’t really allow for stillness.
I know I tend to go and go and go.
Actually, if I admitted it, I have had, maybe, one day off since the beginning of the year.
Yep, working for myself tends to keep me busy all the time.
But that really isn’t helpful.
Winter is the season of stillness and rest, during which energy is conserved and stored.
When we fight against this, we can create added stress on the body.
Water is the elemental energy associated with winter.
Water is a highly concentrated element containing great potential power awaiting release.
In the human body, water is associated with essential fluids such as hormones, lymph, marrow, and enzymes, all of which contain great potential energy.
Water energy is depleted by the 'heat' of stress and excess emotions.
So as you and I continue going through our busy schedules without downtime, we tend to deplete our balance of water and overall energy.
With the imbalance, we tend to also deplete our resources...and then some type of “dis-ease” sets in.
For some, this could be a cold or the flu. For others, this could be depression and lack of energy.
Which is it for you?
And how do you balance this out?
On my latest episode of The Empowered Spirit Show, I talk about Traditional Chinese Medicine with Foti Sardelis, owner of Anthos Acupuncture & Herbal Clinic, and how Traditional Chinese Medicine can offer a holistic approach to improving your overall health and wellbeing.
And one of the outcomes to this approach...well...you will have to listen to the episode to find out!
Here's a hint: it really does help to empower the Spirit!
