My next guest on Catch Your Spirit in our Summer Meditation series is Becca Impello. 

Becca has been a physical therapist and yoga instructor in the Birmingham area since 2000 and has had a personal meditation practice for several years, drawing mostly from the Mindfulness tradition used by Jon Kabat-Zinn.  

In the fall of 2015 Becca was able to participate in a introductory study on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and attend a three day mindfulness meditation retreat.

She is co-leader of the HereNowYoga 200 Hour Teacher Training which focuses on alignment-based asana and has a heavy emphasis on mindfulness, both formal practices such as meditation and informal practice to promote mindfulness throughout everyday life.  

Becca finds that many of her students and clients are curious about meditation but often assume that they can’t do it because their mind is too busy or they don’t have time to sit still for thirty minutes. She seeks to help them realize that anyone can cultivate mindfulness and that there are a variety of ways to practice. 

Her newest workshop, Peace of Mind(fulness), offered every few months is a sampling of different mindful practices that are accessible, fun and open the door to trying other types or lengths of meditation.
